Happy Wednesday! You are halfway there- the weekend is almost in sight! Two whole days off. You don’t have to go to the office, you can spend time with your family, or you can just do nothing but relax! That would be great – except your house is a mess, the laundry is piled as high as a mountain, and your fridge is either bare or full of outdated stuff. You wish you could lounge around and enjoy your weekend – but you have too much work to do.
Every Wednesday, I will post some Helpful Hump-Day Hints (HHH). Small things you can do at the midweek point that will help you buy some extra “me” time on the weekends. They won’t be huge projects or anything too time consuming – I know you just worked an eight hour day, so you probably aren’t in the mood to wash all your hard wood floors!
HHH#1 Set your alarm for 15 minutes earlier. After you shower, spray down the shower and tub with your favorite bathroom cleaner. Go about your morning routine, then wash down the shower before you get dressed.
HHH#2 When you get home from work, tackle the week of mail that has piled up. While watching TV sort through the mail and divide into four piles. ANSWER, PAY*, TRASH, COUPONS. *If you are still receiving paper bills in the mail make sure to include on your weekend to-do list: go online and stop all paper bills. Next Wednesday you will only have three piles!
HHH#3 Before you sit down to sort the mail, throw a load of towels in the laundry. Since it doesn’t matter if towels get wrinkled, you can put the load in the dryer when you go to bed. Wake up on Thursday and one load of laundry is done!
Did you accomplish any HHHs this week? Reward yourself! (Rewards are NOT just for children!) Got up that extra 15 minutes early? Buy a specialty coffee on the way to work. Sorted the mail and did laundry at night? Enjoy a relaxing bath in your sparkling clean tub!
