On TV – Mad Men -my main reaction to the season finale was it was ….good. Not great. Not bad. In usual Mad Men style, there was a cliffhanger, but not with the same magnitude. They used up all their “wow – factor” in the previous two episodes. Suits started up again last night and it didn’t disappoint. Harvey really knows how to play hardball! But my pick for My Friday Favorite this week is:
- Dallas!! The original Dallas show ran from 1978 – 1991. That was from when I was five years old until I graduated high school. It was literally a fixture on the TV in my house my whole childhood. I went from being told to go to bed, to finally being allowed to join in all the fun. John Ross and Christopher have stepped right into J.R and Bobby’s shoes and another generation of Ewing sagas have begun. My favorite quote: “Blood may be thicker than water, but oil is thicker than both of them.” -J.R. Ewing. My DVR is set.

I was not thrilled with the Mad Men season finale. I didn’t even think it was the finale because it seemed so blah. I was sad to learn about the electro-shock therapy and how it may have been used on women. That was a sad scene. After waiting all of this time for the season to start, I would have much rather it ended with the Lane epsiode, or at least something shocking.
True Blood started: big fan of that show and it was as wild as ever.
Happy Father’s Day to Larry.
Maybe in the near future you could go into some detail about how you packed up your parent’s home, what you did with all of the contents, what is truly worth saving, I am in need of some helpful hints in that area!
I agree about Mad Men. I was really expecting a big shocking cliffhanger like usual, and since the episodes leading up to the finale were so shocking, I thought it was going to be very climatic! Are you watching Dallas? We are slowly be surely accomplishing to clean out of my parents’ house. Closing is July 15 so it must be done by then! Is your mom downsizing? Or are you guys moving? You’re right though – it would be a good idea for a post! Happy Father’s Day to Joe!
